The most commonly rented layouts are studios and one-bedroom apartments. It is much more difficult to find vacant two-bedroom apartments in these buildings. Many students find these co-op apartments through Craigslist, and they generally are rented very quickly.

Some law students do live on campus but it varies depending on the individual school’s graduate student housing policy and how expensive it is compared to off-campus housing options. Most large universities will have a graduate student housing option but remember it is graduate student housing not law student housing.

Why can’t I find on-campus housing for GW graduate students?
Due to the ongoing renovation of Thurston Hall on the Foggy Bottom Campus, which will return to GW’s on-campus housing inventory Fall 2022, Campus Living and Residential Education (CLRE) will be unable to offer GW Graduate students any on-campus housing over that time frame.
