There is no designated swimming area at the park and lifeguards are not provided. You may swim at your own risk. Admission is free. Days and Hours of Operation: Sa-Th 9am-6pm; Fri 9am-8pm (extended to 9 PM Monday-Sunday during Daylight Saving Time).
What lake is Keowee Toxaway State Park?
Nestled alongside Lake Keowee, Keowee-Toxaway State Park is an Upcountry haven for nature lovers. From here, the rolling majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be seen from across the calm waters of Lake Keowee. This lake contains a large population of bass, bream, crappie, and catfish.

What are the park’s hours of operation? During Standard Time the park is open daily from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., however the park remains open till 8 p.m. on Friday. During Daylight Savings Time the park is open daily from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Is Lake Keowee clear?
Lake Keowee, South Carolina is an 18,000-acre lake in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This clear blue lake runs 20 miles in length, as much as 800 feet deep and offers 300 miles of shoreline. Why visit Keowee-Toxaway National Park?
Being a park ranger has provided me that opportunity. The one feature in Keowee-Toxaway that I personally like the most is the Raven Rock hiking trail. The rock outcropping along the trail offers a picturesque view of Lake Keowee, and the rock outcropping is probably the best photo opportunity on the park.

**Our Ultimate Outsider stamp is located on the frront side of the orientation kiosk located in the lower level parking lot of the park office. With some of the most stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains South Carolina has to offer, Keowee-Toxaway State Park is truly one of South Carolina’s pretty places.
How do you get to Lake Keowee?
Two hiking trails in the park take visitors over a natural bridge and through the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, land once traveled by Cherokee Indians. A short, half-mile trail leads to Lake Keowee where guests can enjoy fishing for bass, bream, crappie and catfish.
How do you spend a week in Keowee?
Spend a week in Keowee’s completely furnished cabin, including a private boat dock that overlooks the lake. Hike the Natural Bridge and Raven Rock trail systems in the spring and photograph wildflowers such as orchids, trilliums, trout lilies, allegany spurge, ginger and violets.
