In most applications, an interlock is used to help prevent a machine from harming its operator or damaging itself by preventing one element from changing state due to the state of another element, and vice versa.

How does interlock switch work?

The Interlock Kit is a device that creates a mechanical interference between the main breaker and a generator back feed breaker. This interference prevents both breakers from being turned ON at the same time. Depending on the capacity of the generator you may be able to run all of the circuits in your home.

Why interlocking is necessary during the closing of CB?
