You have two options to display GPS info: via Betaflight OSD or/and Radio Telemetry. Another thing you can do is to use your Taranis to log the real-time coordinates via Telemetry (SmartPort or Crossfire). If you crash, you have the last known position of your aircraft.

How do I enable GPS in Betaflight?

Select GPS and then auto which will automatically select the right number for you. After this, you are going to want to go over to the configuration tab where you will scroll down to the section that says GPS. Turn on the switch that says GPS and then select the appropriate protocol for your GPS.

What GPS and how does it help a drone?

GPS drones are equipped with a GPS module that allows them to know their location relative to a network of orbiting satellites. Connecting to signals from these satellites allows the drone to perform functions such as position hold, autonomous flight, return to home, and waypoint navigation.

What is telemetry drone?

The Telemetry API is a gRPC stream to which drones can push their position and health information. Telemetry allows for realtime information and communication in the form of a data stream. It enables applications to have a live icon of a moving drone displayed on a map.

What is the brainfpv flight controller?

BrainFPV (A.K.A the Brain) is a new flight controller that is designed for FPV flying. It’s the same size as the Naze32 and CC3D (36mmx36mm square), with impressive amount of components built into it given the small form factor and light weight.

Should I get a naze32 or brainfpv FC?

The BrainFPV FC might seem pricey ($130), and getting a Naze32 Full + OSD ($59 + $11 MinimOSD) is cheaper. But there is a few reasons why I still want to get the Brain. Brain has more capable GPS features, currently GPS is not supported in Naze32 software yet (all you can do is staring at the GPS coordinates on OSD)

What software does the brain use?

The Brain runs open source software based on Tau Labs GCS, which is also used in the recently released TBS Gemini. For experienced CC3D users it shouldn’t be a big problems. It’s an OpenPilot fork so the GUI and PID tuning is pretty much the same as the CC3D/Revo.
